Who Am I?

Here's the real deal....

I am a kick ass wife, mom, friend, and coach!...

Ok let me be serious here because you  did NOT come to my site to read about how great I am (ok... that's enough right?). No but here's the REAL DEAL..

I am a wife to a wonderful man who blessed me (and cursed me, if you are a mom, you know EXACTLY what I am talking about) with 2 little boys. Yep, I am a #boymom loud and proud. My oldest is 4 years old and the other is 1 years old. I love being a mom but BOY does it have it's challenges. It makes running your own business from home VERY eventful to say the least.

Speaking of business, I am a Team BeachBody coach and have been for almost 3 years and I must say, I never thought that such a simple decision would impact my life the way that it has. From the at home programs (YES! They do work), to the trips I've earned (Mexico anyone?), and the( kick ass) people I've met; it has all been very life altering.

So how and why did I become a coach?

Here's the HOW:

Well as we all know, that with having a baby, comes weight gain... A LOT of weight gain in my case. And us as women being the wonderful creatures we are (men you have NO idea how EASY you have it when it comes to weight loss), stress about whether we are too fat, losing the baby weight too slow, not fitting into our "pre-pregnancy" clothes. I'm here to tell you, I was/am no different. I was tired of doing all the quick fixes, the fads, and the "new" diets only to lose the weight and eventually gain it all back. I wanted a LIFESTYLE change. I was tried of feeling like a failure when it came to weight loss.

To make a long story short, during one of my many late night nursing sessions, I saw the infomercial for Beachbody's 21 Day Fix Program. It sparked my interested because I could still eat the foods I loved just as long as it fix in the little color coded containers. It introduced what I was looking for which was a lifestyle change. Something that was sustainable and appeared to provide some great results.  I knew of someone who was a coach so I got into contact with her and began my journey.

Little did I know those 21 Days would FOREVER change my life. I got great results from the program, I lost 8 lbs and 9.5 inches my very 1st round (yes, since then, I've completed many rounds). I found the 30 min workouts very doable, especially with having a new born. I was able to put the baby down for a nap and get to work. And then the icing on the cake was that I fell IN LOVE with the super food shake that was apart of the program called, Shakeology. One sip of that.. hook, line, and sinker!

This program could not have came at a better time as I broke my foot playing flag football and had to have surgery. 2 surgeries to be exact. As a part of the recovery process for surgery #1, I was non-weight bearing for THREE AND A HALF MONTHS!! Do you know how hard that was with having a 9 month old baby AND being it's primary caregiver?! Anyway, that's a story for another time. My coach had kept asking me to become a coach but I felt I with being a busy SAHM (stay at home mom) I didn't have the time. Then she told me that I could sign up to get a discount on the shakes, and that's all she had to say.

I signed up for what's called a discount coach where I was NOT obligated to work the business aspect but could get all future purchases at a discounted price (AND yes, that included my shakes). And with being a one income household, this spoke straight to my heart and pockets. I was strictly a coach for the discount and nothing more. Well the 1st surgery happened and I ate my feelings. I ate my feelings so much that I had gained back the weight I had lost PLUS some. Then to throw salt into an already open wound, I had to have another surgery to finish correcting the injury.

This time I vowed to not let my emotions control me and my journey. In the meantime my family and friends were asking me what did I do to lose the weight before so I was referring them to my coach and to the 21 Day Fix Program.  She quickly informed me that although she is grateful for the referrals, I should work the business and make a little extra money. So that's what I did. I decided on that day to jump in with both feet and figure the rest out later. So after my 2nd surgery, I ran my very first challenge group (accountability group). I committed to my challengers that no matter my condition, I would do the program with them... AND I DID. I did not let being non-weight bearing for another 8 weeks stop me from showing up everyday. I completed all workout days that didn't require lower body, although on some days, using an IWalk, I was able to complete those too. I stuck with the nutrition and was pretty surprised at the results I got.  This leads me to the WHY.

Here's the why:

I have always been super passionate about fitness and helping people. When I ran my very first challenge group, it spoke directly to my heart. It awakened something in me that I had been missing. I was juggling with the fact of returning to the workforce but struggled with the fact that I'd be missing out on my child growing up. It's crazy how fast they grow when you are watching them, I couldn't even imagine what it would've been like to go back to a 9 to 5. At this point, I spoke with the hubby and told him my wishes, and just like that (remember earlier I said I was married to a wonderful man) I became a full pledged Beachbody coach.

I became a coach because the mission is something that I could stand behind. Their programs work and help people find and implement a LIFESTYLE change, not a quick fix. It encourages us as coaches to focus on helping others become happy and healthy, and not to much on the monetary factor (although this factor is great). It's helped me along my own journey and has encouraged me to share it.... And if you follow me on Instagram and facebook, I SHARE IT ALL! The good, the bad, the ugly, the pretty. I truly believe if I had never taken the plunge to become a coach, I would have never met some of the most amazing people out there. I would have never been able to take my best friend of 20+ years on an all inclusive, all expense paid trip tp Mexico that I earned, to celebrate out 40th birthdays a year early. I would have never been  able to truly incorporate a sustainable way of leaving and not to mention my physical transformation.

And that's another thing, Beachbody stresses the importance of personal development, something I didn't know much about before. But it makes sense, how can I help others become happy and healthy if I wasn't doing that myself. Part of the company's mission is "Be a product of the product!" And let me tell you, I took this and ran with it. To date, I have completed the following programs:

  • 21 Day Fix (X7)
  • 21 Day Fix Extreme (X5)
  • Master's Hammer & Chisel
  • Insanity
  • P90X
  • 22 Minute Hard Corp
  • Shift Shop (post pardum workout after baby #2)
  • A Little Obsessed
  • 80 Day Obsession (currently on round 2)

The next program I am going to do is LIIFT4 starting in late July. And I just celebrated my 3rd year drinking Shakeology DAILY. Yes, I drank it while pregnant and nursing. That stuff really is that good.

Here's my disclaimer, being a coach is not a quick get rich scam. I am living proof of that, Yes I have made some good money doing so but I have not made millions (although there are plenty of successful coaches out there who have). The money made is a direct reflection of the time, dedication and hard work put into the business. It's all about the grind and although I'd love to grind away at this coaching thing, I am a mom... and that requires a lot of my time. But I also believe that being a mom that is a coach, is what sets me apart from other coaches. It adds to my story, the story that I get to share with you. And if you think... no if you are willing to take a chance on you, your health and your life, I'd love to help you share YOUR story!

After all...
